My KenyaMission
God had called me to go again to Kenya before covid-19 hit. At that time apostle Bill and I were to take Christopher Simiyu Wanyoni Bera to Capetown, to Reinhard Bonnke’s headquarters. There, standing in front of it, we were to pass Bonnke’s “mantle” on to Bera according to God’s instructions. Bonnke had already passed the “torch” of his ministry on to the young pastor, Daniel Kolenda, whom he had discipled for continuing Christ For All Nations ministry. But God had reserved Bonnke’s “mantle” for Chris, whom He had ordained to become a “Father to Africa.” The Spirit of God had shown me similar images like this video, where I could not see the end of the people having come to hear the Father to Africa speak and minister.
Bonnke was a German evangelist, serving God mightily in Africa. Bishop Christopher Wanyoni Simiyu Bera is an indigenious, native African, born in Kenya in a village near Lake Victoria, a Maasai of the Maasai of Mt. Elgon. Maasai means “My people,” and their language is “Maa.” Most Maasai are Christians, few are Moslems.
The covid-19 pandemic prevented us from going not, because we were afraid, but because we could not obtain a visa and a ticket to fly to Capetown. God reiterated His purpose: this assignment was not cancelled, merely postponed.
The 2nd part of the Kenya mission was to see to it that restitution would be made to Chris for his property, which county government thugs had usurped, and his church building on it torn down. We were to meet with Webuye’s mayor and city council, show proof of Chris and my ownership of the property (I had paid 2/3rds of the costs to the landlord – Kenya Diary 2006-07, pg 06-07) and demand restitution for the property at its present value and a new church building somewhere in the center of Webuye on a plot of land donated by the city.
By the time God’s appointed time for this mission arrived, apostle Bill decided that this was my assignment and that he had no part in it, although prior to covid-19 God had assigned him to go with me.
Apparently Satan got wind of my going to Kenya despite my present disability, and began throwing multiple obstacles in the way. One was, with Bill cancelling his flight he had booked upon God’s clear confirmation, I could not pass on Bonnke’s mantle to Chris: it required the presence of apostolic authority. Although my office is that of a prophet, as a female I alone could not carry out this assignment successfully. But Bill remained undeterred, feeling indebted to serve his pastor friend following a serious surgery.
Another obstacle was my friend and sister in the Lord, Karen Officer-Reuveni, whom I had been hosting for 3 months after she had become greatly disabled and needed help. The Lord prompted me to call her just when she had to leave the Rehab facility but still required full-time help. As she was asking the Lord what to do, I called and invited her to stay with us.
I placed a fleece before the Lord to know if I should go to Kenya or stay put. I had several urgent needs. First, the insurance had to credit our bank account with several thousands of NIS for covering debts and the cost of the trip. Second, I needed help to care for Karen, my husband, Betzalel and our son, Ami, during my absence. Our friend Raija Liisa promised to come and help, and Ani, my helper from the national insurance, propmised a few hours every day. Hallelujah! The insurance lady assured me that the money would go into my account in a few business days. Hence, the Lord confirmed the provision and I was free to go.
The 3rd part of the mission was to go see Maasai chief Moses Nkuruna (see Kenya Visit 2008, photo album, pages 90-92; Kenya visit 2011 album, VI, pages 07-30) ) at Bissil in Kajiado, to bring him the 162 pages pamphlet from the Ministry of Aliyah & Integration I had downloaded from their website, how to prepare for Aliyah, what documents are required, etc. These 3 assignments were very important. And praise God, He made a way where there seemed to be no way.
The main problem was that not a single airline flew into or out of Israel, only the national airline El Al. However, El Al does not fly to Nairobi nor to Addis Abbaba. To make my way to Webuye, I needed to fly Tel Aviv-London-Addis Abbaba-Nairobi-Kisumu, a 37 hours trip with the layovers. The return flight was going to be equally long, this time over Rome. What a challenge!
Due to the flight hours, I spent the night before my trip with my son, Yizrael, near Tel Aviv. The next morning, I needed a taxi for the airport but Yizrael graciously drove me there. And thank God it was Yizrael who accompanied me.
Upon arrival at the airport, as Yizrael went for my wheelchair and helper, it suddenly hit me: OMG! My 2 passports, Israeli & American and the Kenyan visa, were at home, in my room! Already a week beforehand, I had placed them in a folder next to my computer so as not to forget them. Apparently, I had pushed the folder behind my computer screen thereby hiding the passports. Not seeing them, I assumed my passports were packed. Oh, what a shock! I was beside myself, thinking that all my preparation was in vain, and I would not be able to complete this mission.
I phoned Yizrael who, thank God, remained cool, calm and collected and reassuring. He learned there was a counter of the Ministry of the Interior in the airport where I could obtain a temporary passport.
Yizrael took me there in the wheelchair and the man behind the counter was kind and helpful. Yes, he could provide me with a temporary passport. I was in tears about my forgetfulness, at the age of 80. He just smiled and said that his mother, who was also 80 years old, was forgetting things as well.
“There is nothing new in this airport,” he said, “All things happen and are possible here.” He helped me with passport pictures and in just a few minutes he handed me my new, temporary passport. Yizrael paid since I had left my 2 credit cards with Betzalel.
But now there was another problem. My Kenya visa was linked to my passport that I had forgotten at home. I needed a new visa. OMG! How could I do this in such a short time? I would not be allowed on the Ethiopian Airline in London without the visa. Once again, praise be to God, Who delivers those who love Him out of all their troubles, He solved the problem!
Fortunately, I happened to have in my mobile phone the name and phone number of the Kenyan Embassy employee in Tel Aviv who was working from home because of Hamas’ missile attacks. He had called me back when he saw how often I had called the Embassy, and so I still happened to have his name and phone number.
Yizrael called him – and he answered! Hallelujah! – explained the situation, and that dear man immediately started working on a new visa for which Yizrael also had to pay (I restored it back multiplied ) By the time I was to board the El Al flight to London, I had both my Israeli passport and the Kenyan visa. Glory to God!
A Divinely Planned Schedule
I had prepared my dual citizenship passports because flying abroad it is safer to use my American one. I use my Israeli only for departure from and arrival in Tel Aviv. With Oct. 7th having brought a heavy war upon Israel and anti-Semitism across the globe, travelling with an Israeli passport was not safe at all. I trusted the Lord to watch over me, as I was travelling on account of His assignments.
In every airport I needed a wheelchair service. It was perfect in London Heathrow airport, where 2 young helpers dropped me off at a restaurant to spend my layover time, joining a woman sipping her coffee. I love to meet people wherever I go because Yeshua inside me knows and loves them; there are never any strangers for Him. I began talking to her and we had a most pleasant conversation. Time just flew by until the helpers came and took me to my Ethiopian Airlines flight.
This trip was an exercise in forgetfulness! Upon arriving in Addis I realized I had forgotten my beautiful, kosher shofar bought in Jerusalem’s Old city, in the store of a Jewish believer in Yeshua. The man in charge of the arrivals went personally for it as I kept crying for my shofar. He came back with it, with a broad smile. I thanked him profusely.
Beate Kleber, my German evangelist sister and divine connection who was coming with me to Webuye,
had booked her flights herself, and thus arrived early at Bole Addis
Abbaba International airport. We only found each other shortly before our departure to Nairobi, where we were greeted at the Jomo Kenyatta airport by Joseph, the taxi driver I had booked to take us to our overnight stay at the Kenya-Inn, The Inn was inside a private, pleasant and guarded estate. As it turned out, the owner of the Kenya-Inn is a born-again, Spirit-filled believer with whom we shared a blessed time.
Beate and I saw, after all, how God’s hand was in everything that we were to do and where we went, literally giving us a divinely planned schedule.
Our flight from Nairobi to Kisumu was with Kenya Airways. To my pleasant surprise they had now their own terminal, right next to the Kenyatta International, where Beate and I enjoyed a much needed coffee and a breakfast. A curious thing happened on this flight. I said to Beate, “Let’s speak in German. People don’t need to hear what we are talking about.” Upon disembarking, the couple seated behind us said – in German – “We understood everything you said, and we enjoyed it. We are also believers in Jesus.” Incredible! Only God does things like that. Now we knew for sure we were in His agenda.
Another pleasant surprise awaited us upon arrival in Kisumu, formerly a single building with 1 single runway. It was now a real airport, pretty and well set up.
Chris and Mike were waiting for us. I immediately saw them. My heart lept for joy, not having seen these 2 beloved friends and servants of God since my Kenya mission in 2016. On our way to Webuye, yet another surprise – the roads were clean with no holes, no trash lining the sides of the roads, no rivelets of dirty water filled with rotten produce, swarming with mosquitos. What had happened? I expressed my astonmishment.
Chris and Mike explained: the political system in Kenya had changed. Instead of the Federal government in charge over the whole country, elected governors now rule individual counties. The cities and towns no longer have a mayor and city council, but county and district officials answerable to the governor. Wow! The difference between what I saw now and what it looked like 7 years ago was absolutely amazing. This was just awesome!
After Chris and Mike told me of the annual award winning ceremony for the counties who did the most for their advancement, I realized, that the awards were a motivating force between counties and governors wanting to win the first price. Smart thinking! Every business owner, every produce, articles or clothes stand, had to keep their plot of land spic-and-span, raked, the bushes and trees trimmed. No more produce thrown into some water by the road to rot there. Water after a rainfall was not allowed to keep standing, for mosquitos to gather. I saw a whole, new Kenya.
When we arrived in Webuye, I finally saw the house the Lord had me build for them, finishing what Beninah had started with a foundation of bricks. How Beninah bought the bricks is a mystery to me.
Chris had received a free plot of land from the authority, who had taken over the Pan Paper property. But since Chris spent most of the money on ministry out of total devotion to the Lord and lost souls, he made no effort to build on the property. When they were threatened with losing the property unless they built on it, Beninah did the impossible and started just that.
Tired of moving from rental to rental every three months, Beninah dreamt of a permanent home for her family as well as a barn for her animals. Being the righteous woman of Proverbs 31 as she was, Beninah somehow managed to save money to buy brick after brick, eventually laying a foundation. However, then came the very heavy rainfall of Western Kenya. Since the bricks were just baked, red soil, the rain began to destroy them. Desperate to save what his beloved Mom had started, Mike called me for help. He asked if I could pay for a roof that would keep the bricks safe. I did. Following that, the Lord told me to finish what Beninah had started.
And now we stayed in the house Beninah and I built. I had loved her so very much! She was a great woman of God, a pillar and strength in her husband’s ministry and in the community. She spread love and joy, song and prayer, keeping her household well-organized and running smoothly, assigning tasks to everyone, even down to the youngest.
My beloved intercessory sisters of my Zoom prayer meeting donated money to furnish my empty room, as well as Beate’s room. The beds were large and comfortable, unlike previous times when I had to toss and turn between wooden boards to avoid pain. Plus, the entire bed was surrounded by a mosquito net. But I preferred the one hanging from the ceiling, preventing the entry of mosquitos at all times.
Nobody had to sleep on the living room floor, and Chris and his wife Julia did not have to give up their room to accommodate visitors. However, the many family visitors filled the bunkbed rooms to capacity.
The living room walls were lined with comfortable, upholstered sofas and chairs, also something new. There used to be rather uncomfortable wooden benches covered with doilies. It is customary in Africa to line the walls with seats and narrow tables for meals rather than a large center dining-room table.
The kitchen was very disappointing, being ever-so-small with no refrigerator, stove or oven. Cooking was still done by sitting before or bending over small charcoal cookers. That kitchen must be redone when the Lord grants me the funds to build them a modern kitchen.
The Day Of Honor
And Reinhard Bonnke’s MantleBeate and I arrived on Friday, November 24th, ready for the next day, the main reason for which I had come – the day of honoring Chris for 40 years of faithful ministry and being a father to many pastors and bishops. Chris had invited me as his guest of honor. But it was the Lord Who wanted me to go, to establish what He had intended years ago – transferring the mantle of Reinhard Bonnke on Chris. For this purpose I brought the blessed water, salt and anointing oil, and Betzalel’s tallit (prayer shawl) he had never used.
4 viewsThe event was to be held in a large building, accommodating about 3000 guests. However, the person entrusted with reserving and renting that large hall had procrastinated until it was rented out to someone else.
The committee of bishops then decided to set up tents on Chris’ plot of land. All of Nov. 24th the builders worked tirelessly, erecting tents until enormous, dark clouds burst right over Chris’ plot, over Webuye and over other parts of the land causing flooding, breaking bridges and even causing the death of some poor souls. Beate and I, and certainly others as well, prayed to God to grant a sunny, lovely day, Nov. 25th, a Shabbat day. And He did! Everything was dry enough to finish setting up the tents and the chairs.
The bishops had not planned me in to speak, although they knew of my coming and of my importance to Chris. The 2 head bishops met with me. I made it clear to them that if they insisted on me speaking only a little prayer, I would leave because I did not make this long and arduous trip and spend the money on it for a short prayer. They asked Chris who told them who I am, what I mean to him and his family. Therewith they agreed to have me speak first of all. After having heard me speak, they asked Chris to take me to several of their churches to teach these Kingdom principles to their people. There was much joyful African singing and dancing performances for Chris. In Africa, there is always time for singing and dancing, even if there is a lack of food, a drought or a flood.
4 viewsWhen the time came to transfer Bonnke’s mantle, I stood next to Chris and his wfe, Julia, and prayed for the apostolic authority through men of God, His ministers. Then, up came the committee of five bishops who had planned and organized this event, surrounding me, Chris and Julia. As I began to carry out Abbas’s instructions with the water, the salt and the oil, the five bishops stretched out their hands toward Chris and me, and there was the anointing and authority it required for me to carry out this very special assignment.
I do understand rank and authority, as it is on earth among man, so it is also in heaven. One does not simply dash forward and do whatever in the name of Yeshua without orders by the Lord of hosts, the Father, just because we confess Yeshua. This applies especially to a woman (thanks to the matter of the Garden of Eden) who must be UNDER authority in order to minister and function WITH authority. Despite receiving the assignment from the Lord for the mantle placement, I could not do it on my own, even as a prophetess, as this mantle was of a great man of God, and was to go onto another great man of God, with no woman in between.
The Apostolic authority needed was that of a man, although I do fulfill the requirements for the office of an apostle – having seen the Living Messiah, being a witness to the fact that He lives, and often being sent out by God.
I dedicated, consecrated and sanctified Chris with the 3 sacred elements – the water, the salt and the oil – then blessed him with the high priestly blessing. I took the kosher talit (prayer shawl) I had bought years ago in Jerusalem, covered Chris with it as do the Cohanim (the high-priests) when pronouncing the Aaronic blessing, and poured the anointing oil over his head, at which instant God transferred Bonnke’s mantle upon Chris, of which I became immediately aware. An awesome responsibility and power of authority had come upon Chris. I believe he was aware of it due to his closing words and prayer.
My second reason for visiting Chris in Webuye was to ensure he receives full restitution for his property and his church which the local government had stolen from him and were building on it. When they dismantled the church building, Chris gathered all the pieces, transported them to his plot of land and rebuilt there. Unhappily, the new site was at the mercy of the rains which flooded the church, leaving one standing in ankle-deep water and mud with water dripping from above.
Needless to say, Chris lost all of his saints!
Exacerbating matters, Chris and his family were locked out of their rented house and lost all their possessions. Sadly, all his important files were destroyed, including my CDs. His daughter-in-law, Mike’s wife, had just given birth to a baby girl and another baby granddaughter was with them, a little one of perhaps 1 ½ years old. Having nowhere to go, they stayed in the church building, sleeping on the narrow, hard wooden benches, in the cold, wet weather.
Fearing for the lives of the newborn and the little one, I had them find a house for which I paid the rent until their new house was built and finished, which took 6+ months.
But they had nothing! No furniture, no clothes, no bed and no kitchen utensils. Simply awful! I supported them financially in all their most urgent needs – how, I’ll never know. God must have applied the principle of the widow’s oil and flour which never increased yet never ran out. Yeshua fed the four thousand and five thousand with just a few fish and five loaves of bread after the same principle. I continued sending money until Money Gram blocked me, having become suspicious of my sending so much money to an African family who were not even my blood relatives.
Restitution & Restoration
4 viewsHowever, due to the new governing laws, there was now no mayor nor city council to speak to. Moreover, the former landlord of the property had died, and so had the attorney, both witnesses to my having paid the landlord the balance (2/3) Chris still owed him. I had expected to show the document of ownership, signed by Chris, me, the landlord and the attorney, as proof that I and Chris were the rightful owners , pg 07, of the property which had been seized illegally and built on.
The signed document, kept in an Archive in Nairobi, will cost Chris 70,000 Ksh to obtain. I charged the bishops with this responsibility but I will have to keep reminding them until they do it. Furthermore, God demands that Chris receive a plot of land, easily accessible, in a choice area of Webuye, where he can build a new, respectable church.
The following day I visited Rev. Herman Kasili’s church, a very nice church building he had built. Inside were plastic chairs standing in rows on a tiled, concrete floor. Rev. Kasili, Senior Pastor at the Gospel Lighthouse church in Webuye, is a man of God as described in Proverbs: sensible, practical, applying God’s Kingdom principle to his personal life and his ministry. I encouraged Mike to follow his example. One does not forsake being faithful to God by making a living besides full-time ministry. The Apostle Paul supported himself with tent making (Acts 18:1-3; 20:33-35; Ph’pp 4:14-16) until churches began to assist and fund him.
But Chris did not see it this way. For him, full-time ministry excluded working for a living. Yet, his friend and brother in the Lord, Rev. Herman Kasili, was seeking to serve the Bungoma County as their new senator, introducing godly governing ways into this County.
After Reverend Kasili, I was taken to two more churches where the lead bishop asked me to minister the Word. As at Rev. Kasisli’s, the Lord had me teach on tithes and offerings, based on Malachi 3:6-12, using examples they understood and could relate to. They received the teaching and exhortation with joy. I closed with repeating the Lord’s commandment of love, that He will judge us on how well we have kept it and taken to heart, as well as His prayer of unity by diligently practicing it.
These teachings, filled with examples and laughter, struck home each time. The bishop and pastor agreed I had definitely heard from the Lord because the congregation had been much divided, with little love and little tithing. The bishop and pastor led in prayer as they all repented – some with tears – crying for forgiveness. The pastor’s wife set the example.
Similarly, the next church also needed to hear this Word and the bishop prayed strongly for all the saints afterwards.
In each church I introduced Beate, my dear evangelist sister, to allow her to share why the Lord had brought her with me to Kenya and to speak on her tracts and leave many to be distributed. Beate reached about 3,700 people with her tracts in 6,500 languages (many are dialects, like in Kenya every tribe has their own language), with a book by Yaacov Damkani, a Jewish Israeli evangelist, and a Jesus movie, all of which the Kenyans received with joy.
We visited the 36+ orphans Mike and Chris are keeping and providing for, and went to the nursing home Chris is trying to build for the elderly who have no one to care for them.
I ministered the Word and special blessings in Eldored, at a church of Chris’ best friend since early days, a bishop who also serves as a professor at a Christian university. He used Yeshua’s proper Hebrew name, had us all stand up, stretch our hand toward the east toward Jerusalem, to pray for the city and for the land and people of Israel. He spoke with much insight and understanding. I felt honored to minister the Word of God there, which I did for two hours uninterrupted, unaware of the time.
My third assignment was to meet with Maasai Chief Nkuruna (see Kenya Visit 2008, photo album, pages 90-92; Kenya visit 2011 album, VI, pages 07-30) ) at Bissil in Kajiado and give him a 162-page brochure from the Israeli Ministry of Aliyah & Integration detailing the requirements and first steps of Aliyah.
The chief had planned to attend Chris’ event of honor, but the heavy rainfall the day before in other parts of the country led to flooding and prevented the Chief from coming. Furthermore, the chief fell ill and we couldn’t visit him. The brochure remained with Chris and Mike who are also Maasai, of the other half tribe of Menasseh. They will keep a 2nd copy for themselves, and get the first one to the Chief. They did it.
As always, the people invited me to bless their homes, their family and their businesses. Beate, Mike and I were guests at Kasili’s lovely, spacious home which I blessed before leaving. I blessed every member of Bera’s family who were still present – the others I had sent away with my blessing, which usually is a short Word prayer and the Aaronic blessing.
Chris’ grown children had a hard time accepting Julia, his new wife. For them Beninah, their mother, was their father’s only wife. They could not accept him remarrying.
Several years after Beninah’s passing he prayed for a whole year, with much fasting, for the wife God had for him (the reason for it is found in ! Corinthians 7:1-5, fearing he might be tempted to sin). It was Julia, a pastor, from the same tribe as Beninah. The bishops prepared a hasty wedding – why hasty, no one knew – which prevented me from coming to bless their wedding and from the children attending.
Julia at first lived away, working in a flower factory to provide funds for the family. The children did not accept her, compared her with their mother and never gave her a fair chance. Knowing herself rejected, Julia could not spread the love, joy and song like Benina had.
I was looking forward to meeting her. I was surprised to see a pretty, well-built woman, nicely dressed. She greeted us very lovingly. Together with Mike, she showed us to our rooms. I invited her to come and visit with me when she had time. She gladly accepted, and soon knocked at my door. I told her that I fully accepted her as Chris’ wife, given to him by God. And that God chose a rather pretty woman for Chris to be his partner in ministry, a mother in his home and a pillar in the community.
My words brought her to tears. When I told her that I loved her she exclaimed, “And I love you, Momma, so very much!” From then on, every time she came by my room, she’d say, “I love you so very much, Momma.” My words had freed her. She felt accepted and loved, a woman of worth because God had chosen her to be Chris’ wife.
The whole atmosphere changed. She no longer acted with the children as a stranger but as a mother, and as the woman of the house. I told Mike to stop comparing Julia with his mother, but to honor and respect her as his father’s wife, and to love her according to Yeshua’s commandment. As the eldest son, Mike sets the example for his siblings to follow. He accepted my counsel, as he has always done.
At the Day of Chris’ honoring, a woman baked a cake – like a wedding cake – for Chris and Julia. And just like at a wedding, they cut the cake together and gave everybody a little bite of it. They honored me with the first piece. Next was Beate, and the bishops. As I watched this cake ceremony, the Lord impressed upon me that this was His doing. He wanted me to bless this marriage as at a real wedding.
Hence, on our last day in the house, I had Chris and Julia sit together, clasping each other’s hands. I wrapped them with a black satin sash, anointed it and blessed their union in the presence of family members, as God gave me utterance.
God curtailed the rejection of Julia. She will be free to be herself: a pretty woman of God who takes good care of her appearance, always nicely dressed, as she wants to open her own dress business like the woman of valor in Proverbs, adding to the income for her family. Well-versed in the Scriptures, she knows how to pray, and now she too can spread love, joy and song in the house, no longer hindered by comparison with Beninah.
We rose early the next morning for our flight from Kisumu to Nairobi. Mike, Chris and Julia drove us to the airport, sending off with their love and goodbyes.

Dear prayer parners. After 2 1/2 days of travel, we arrived safely at Kisumu Airport in Kenya this morning. We were welcomed by Bishop Chris Bera and his son Mike, who picked up by car. The joy was great. Eleonore has been serving in Kenya since 2004 and this is her 7th mission here. After a 2 hour drive we arrived safely in Webuye.
Eleonore [Annelore] Rasco, 80 years old, from Israel, and I, now 70 years old, on a mission trip in Kenya until December 6th, 2024.
I can accompany Elenore during these days. Since I distribute the Good News of Jesus Christ everywhere I go, I have already started distributing on the go. I am always overwhelmed when I travel to other countries and how willing they are to accept the message.
On Monday we want to visit some Maasai villages. I would like to share with you this journey.
Here they cook… we already had the first meal very tasty.
There is a revival meeting tonight, looking forward to it.
We have now settled in well in Webuye and got used to the slightly different living conditions. There is a small church on the property where there was a revival service on Friday evening. After all visitors had been fed, the service began at 10 p.m. It lasted until midnight when we were allowed to go to our rooms. The praise music then continued cva. 2:00 in the morning, then there was some preaching.
During the day the tents with chairs were set up for the big celebration on Saturday. At the moment it rains often. We asked God that the celebrations should take place in bright sunshine, and so it happened
Bishop Chris Bera celebrated his 40th anniversary of ministry. He trained many pastors and bishops in his life and was very active in blessing here. The other bishops organized the celebration. Elonore Rasco from Israel was the guest of honor and she also gave a moving sermon.
The day of the anniversary celebration began with a car parade through Webuye.
The journey through Webuye.
Bishop Bera with his wife Julia and the two of us.
The entry of the festival guests.
The greeting of the bishops.
With lots of singing, dancing and joy of living.
Then plenty of gifts were given, even a goat, a gas stove, a large metal bed with a good mattress, etc.
Many greetings were given and Elonore preached for an hour, which was very powerful and she was thanked profusely afterwards.
In the last photo is Elonore with Bishop Chris Bera’s 4 eldest daughters.
At the end there was an excellent feastive meal.
Last Sunday Annelore [Elonore] was invited to preach at the “Gospel Lighthouse” church of Rev. Herman Kasili, in Webuye. That was very exciting. The service lasted 5 hours and to me it seemed like only a few minutes.
I was also allowed to share a testimony of how God led me into worldwide mission work. Towards the end of the service I was allowed to help bless the children.
Monday was a rest day, except that we went shopping in this supermarket. I was also able to share the Good News on this occasion. Bishop Bera drove us. The 9 grandchildren were sitting in the back of the car.
Today Bishop Chris Bera’s son, Mike Bera, took us to the waterfalls near here. That was a beautiful nature experience and I was able to distribute the seed of God’s Word on the way again.
3 viewsThere are 3 rivers, they become one here and flow into Lake Victoria, and flow out again as the Nile.
Almost every day there is one or more rain showers. Unfortunately, there are major floods in the Maasai regions, so we can’t go there at the moment. 90 people have already drowned and 37 districts have declared a state of emergency.
Mike Bera invited us to this beautiful hotel for lunch today.
As I was coming back from breakfast, this beauty was sitting on my bed.
Yesterday, Wednesday, there was a big market in Webuye where people came from far away.
With 3 young men from Bishop Bera’s house we were able to distribute the Good News of Jesus Christ. Please, pray with us that the seed of God’s Word that has been scattered will sprout and that many will come to the knowledge of the truth.
Today Bishop Bera took us to a small house church.
The collection was placed on the table. A woman placed 1 egg as a collection. Here it is common practice to pay in kind even if you don’t have any money.
2 viewsEleanor was preaching again.
Yesterday Bishop Chris Bera took us to the planned retirement home. It has been his dream for many years to build a home for abandoned old people. He started it a few years ago.
He always builds piecemeal, depending on how much money there is.
Then we were able to distribute the Good News again at a market. I love these picturesque markets!
Today we were invited to a church service (in Eldoret). Eleanor preached for 2 hours. I’m always amazed at how much strength and energy she has at 80 years old.
Pastor Mike Bera and his father, Bishop Chris Bera, took us to the orphanage today, about a 1 1/2 hour drive from here. Pastor Mike runs the orphanage. We bought sweets and juice so that the children could get something special.
I gave the older children the brochure “The Way to God”.
In the late afternoon I went back into town with Pastor Mike and distributed my last 200 cards with the Gospel. 99% happily accept my materials.
I was able to distribute 3,700 evangelistic materials together with Julia, Bishop Chris Bera’s wife, and two young men from the household here.
A young man, Kennedy A. and Yvonne invited Jesus into their hearts and repented. Pray that God will now bring in a rich harvest and that the two new converts will move forward courageously with Jesus. THANKS!
Every evening the family holds an evening prayer service. This is always very nice and soothing.
2 viewsThis is Annelore and Annelore (Eleonore’s full German name, in Hebrew Channah-Elinor. In Israel they call her Elinor, but I always call her Eleonore – LOL). The young girl was born in 2004 on the day Annelore arrived from Beer-Sheva here for the first time. So nice for both of them that they were able to meet again after 19 years.
Last night Annelore blessed the family.
Time to say goodbye.
The first stage of our return journey is behind us. We flew from Kisumu to Nairobi and are sitting in a cafe and each is doing our mail. At 6:00 p.m. we continue to Addis Ababba, where we part ways. Annelore flies on via Rome to Tel Aviv, and I fly via Cairo to Frankfurt.
I also took photos of Annelore’s business cards. Anyone interested in her ministry is welcome to take a look. Some of her previous trips to Kenya are also included. She also always experiences exciting things. Bishop Chris Bera discovered her on the Internet through her website, “The Virtual Tabernacle,” in 2004 and invited her to Kenya to speak to his people, especially about Israel (you can visit her trips under the category “Travels”).
One of the reasons why Annelore made this trip this time is to meet the Maasai Chief Moses Nkuriua in Maasailand. This trip has literally fallen “into the water” because 37 provinces of Kenya are under water and many bridges and roads are very damaged. She would like to give him a brochure from the Israeli Ministry of Aliyah & Integration. It explains immigration to Israel in detail and how you can prepare for it. The tribe of Manasseh had split up at that time, half the tribe, the Bnei Manasseh, moved on to India and settled there. The other half moved to Tanzania and Kenya and are the Maasai people. The Bnei Manasseh have now returned to Israel and settled.
It is a historic moment when Aliyah can now also be offered to the Maasai. By the way, Bishop Chris Bera and his son Mike are also Maasai. He will ensure that the above brochure comes to the Maasai Chief Moses.
Dear prayer partners, pray with us that these paths would be paved for the Maasai and that nothing speaks against a return to Israel, the promised land.
I further ask you to pray for all the seeds scattered with the Word of God and for God to water and bring in the harvest.
There are still some unreached Maasai villages among the Maasai. I actually wanted to go distribute there. Now I have postponed the trip to the end of August, beginning of September 2024. Bishop Chris Bera and his son Pastor Mike will also come with me, as they will prepare the trip. In the evening we show the Jesus film and then the bishop preaches and calls people to Jesus. Pray that God would give me a missionary sister who would be excited to bring the Good News to the Maasai. Thanks.
Annelore, my 80 year old friend, just sent this to our Webuye WhatsApp group. It gives a good insight into how I live my life.
Her comment:
As I was just talking to the Lord about you, Beate, saying that I testify that you have the heart of God for the lost, for all of whom He gave His Son that WHOSOEVER would believe on Him, would be saved.
If our car stopped for a moment she would reach out through the window to the passers by. Then others came running, curious what she was passing out (of course in the hope of money – LOL). If we stopped longer, she would get put of the car and speak to the people there. In Kenya, people walk, stand and sit everywhere, and they all gratefully accepted what God’s servant, Beate, was giving them – the best news anyone can give – the Good News of salvation.
I testify to all who pray for you and your missions, that I have never seen anyone like you whose heart is consumed with the Father’s heart for the lost to be saved. You, who pray for Beate, she sows the seed of the Good News wherever she is and goes.
Whether in the market, in the store, on the street, on the mountain, gas station, anywhere that she saw human beings, she would sow into their lives the Good Bews – 3700 lives in 2 weeks. End of comment
Thank you very much again for all your prayers for Kenya!!!
Many thanks again to Karin’s birthday party guests. Karin ha
asked all guests not to bring gifts, but rather a financial donation
for Pastor Mike Bera’s orphanage. This brought together 300 Euros,
which have now already arrived at their destination. Thanks to all!
